My almost 4 year old is reading. Yesterday we went out to dinner with my parents and Fiona took a crayon and circled what she wanted on the kids' menu: popcorn shrimp, applesauce and milk. It was a little disturbing when she handed it to me, since, oblivious mom that I am, I hadn't noticed her reading anything before then. But I was pleased to see that her reading vocabulary is focused on food! Wonder who she gets that from....?
