This is a super basic sweater vest I knit up for my 4.5 year old, Ian. He requested a vest that looked like the one his favorite claymation character, Wallace, wears in the Wallace and Gromit series of videos. Other kids in his preschool want to be Spiderman; Ian wants to be an eccentrc, balding, sweater-vest wearing inventor. He has started to call everyone "Chuck", as Wallace does in the films and frequently does Wallace's "cheese" cheer.

Glad to know there's another Wallace & Grommit fan out there; guessing this is a nod to your English heritage, Kate. Rih grew up with them as well and has been trying to turn Emma onto them for ages. We think they're great and looking forward to the film this fall.
Ian is *devoted* to them. He has been carrying the Penguin from "The Wrong Trousers" everywhere with him. (I had a little stuffed version of the W & G penguin from years ago, way before kids entered our lives). Ian doesn't seem to get that the penguin is the villian in the story...
I can completely picture little Ian walking around with the Penguin. I adore the Wallace & Grommit dvds and think you've raised a boy with quite good taste! The vest is perfect too :)
